American Heart Association: CPR-BLS for the Healthcare Provider (HCP)

This is a 2 year certification course intended for those that are required to have the Healthcare Provider Course for employment or schooling.

Cabrillo College offers monthly CPR classes on campus.  The content of the course teaches CPR for adult, child and infant (including ventilation with a barrier device and bag-mask device).  Treatment of cardiac arrest with an automated external defibrillator (AED) and care of choking victims of all ages are also covered.  Equivalent to FT 178.

* Limit 12 students per class.

Online Option with Skills Check Off:

There is also an online alternative for CPR certification.

Online AHA CPR-BLS Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification & Renewal.

Skills Practice Session and Test by appointment.

• Anyone can take the online BLS-HCP course ($22.00) at www.onlineaha.org followed by a manikin skills test ($50.00) at Cabrillo College.  Come prepared to demonstrate skills.  30 minutes of practice time with skill sheets and manikins is provided prior to testing. 
• You must bring your on-line printed course completion certificate to the skills testing session.
• Sessions are scheduled by appointment only. If you have questions or wish to schedule a manikin tests call (831) 239-7031.

Cost: $50

Off site option (train in your workplace):

Our instructors also offer off site certification opportunities for small groups such as medical offices, fitness centers, and companies specializing in patient care, transport or security. Feel free to call to discuss your training needs.

Credit

These classes are not offered for credit. Students who successfully pass this course receive certification from the American Heart Association but do not receive college units.

AHA Heartsaver First Aid

This is the American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid course covering medical, injury, and environmental emergencies. This course satisfies the externship requirement for First Aid certification. Upon successful completion you will receive a two year certification.

We are currently not offering any classes at this time.

Cost: $50
