Facilities Master Plan Construction Projects at Cabrillo College
Construction has been completed or is in construction on several projects that will dramatically expand and improve the educational facilities at the Cabrillo College Aptos campus.
Health and Wellness Center
Construction is complete for our new 55,000+ square foot Health and Wellness facility to bring together all health related disciplines. This included: Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Medical Assisting, Radiological Technology, Stroke Center, Health Science, and a new Wellness Center. Completion of the Allied Health Parking Structure (now Lot P) in 2008 has provided an additional 510 parking spaces.
Student Services Complex and Arts Education Classrooms Projects
The Student Activities Center has been completed and is a 50,000 square foot two-level building located in the very center of campus on Soquel Drive. It houses a significantly expanded bookstore, student government and student activities, community education (and related programs), assessment and orientation, and student services administration.
The Arts Education Classrooms project has been completed and consists of five buildings totaling 122,300 square feet. The project was a 540-seat theater, a 385-seat music classroom and recital hall, an instructional forum building, a building dedicated to two-dimensional art and one for three-dimensional art. This project now provides, for the first time, adequate dedicated instructional space for music, theater, and the arts.
