What we offer
We provide an online housing bulletin board to help students find rooms and studios. We also have an agreement with UC Santa Cruz for guaranteed housing for a limited number of full-time Cabrillo Students. U.C.'s downtown housing complex is a short bus ride to Cabrillo and offers a semi-dormitory arrangement with meal service and live-in mentors. Learn more about housing...
Our Student Health Center provides students with medical services, health counseling, crisis/personal counseling and appropriate referral to community resources. Students can make an appointment for routine and well care and physicals, or simply drop in for minor emergencies, illnesses and injuries.
Cabrillo students are covered for accidental injuries that occur on campus or during sanctioned Cabrillo events. There is currently no extended health insurance available through the college, but if you stop by our Student Health Center, we can suggest some reasonable options.
Take a look at our page of Student Resources to get an idea of the many, many support centers at Cabrillo. Our services range from centers to help with general math, reading, writing and learning skills. In addition to, Cabrillo offers specialized labs in disciplines like science, engineering and music. We are dedicated to supporting students.
Guaranteed Early Admission
to U.C. Campuses
By completing a pre-determined series of courses with a minimum GPA, Cabrillo students are guaranteed admissions to selected University of California Campuses. Some of the universities we have arrangements with are:
UC Santa Cruz
U.C. Santa Barbara
Help your student plan by collecting information about the costs of attending college. While Cabrillo's low tuition fees offer tremendous value, some costs --notably textbooks and housing-- can come as an unexpected surprise. Financial Aid posts a typical student budget for California. Also, to help you compare our costs with those of other colleges, you can use our Net Price Calculator, which the federal government now requires all colleges to provide on their websites.
Plan for Financial Aid
Help your student apply for financial aid in February for the following academic year. Early in the year we hold workshops to help students and their parents complete the FASFA forms online. Even if you let February slip by, most financial aid is still available. In 2005-06, 86% of
our students who applied were granted financial aid awards. Learn more about Financial Aid...
If your student is a high school senior, help them apply to Cabrillo early and complete Assessment and Orientation. They will then be able to take advantage of Running Start Registration, which gives them a better selection of class sections. Learn more about Running Start...
Attend College & Career Night
Help your student prepare for the next life step following Cabrillo. Join them in meeting representatives from universities and local businesses during College and Career Night.
View our Online Orientation
Even if you have attended Cabrillo yourself, you might want to view the online orientation. We require most students to view the orientation video. The orientation video might help you think of other things you can do to help your student succeed. View the online orientation...
