Career Events, Classes and Workshops

Workshops are a great way to get a quick overview on a variety of different career-related topics. It’s also a great way to meet new people and have fun!

Most of our workshops are around 60-90 minutes in length and are interactive. Walk-ins are welcome, and there is no need to RSVP. If you have any questions, contact Transfer Services at (831) 479-6351.

Career and Major Exploration

Choosing a Major: This workshop provides suggestions for beginning the process of choosing a major, and helps answer the questions: What is a major? Why do you need one? Once you choose a major, then what? Learn how to choose a major and what techniques you can use to explore your options.

True Colors: Identify your personality style and which career fields best suit your type. During this workshop you will take the True Colors personality assessment and link your personality characteristics to possible majors or careers.

Online Career Search: In this hands-on workshop, students will create a FREE account for Eureka online and learn how to use the database to explore careers and majors. Eureka is an online tool that can help you identify your skills, research careers, search for schools, link to job openings, and more.

Match your Interests to Careers: Explore your next move in this workshop. You’ll take the O*NET Interest Profiler assessment, discover career interests and identify matching majors.

Career Development

Resume Lab: Learn how to create an effective resume in this hands-on workshop. You will be able to update your current resume or start from the beginning. Bring a USB flash drive.

Rock that Interview: Preparation is key to job interview success. Gain knowledge of proven techniques on how to prepare yourself and participate in mock interviews.

All About Internships & Work Experience: Learn about internships, apprenticeships, and other on-the-job training opportunities for Cabrillo students. Also discover how to gain academic credit for your experience.

Job Fair Prep: Make the most of your job fair experience. Learn how to prepare, highlight strengths, and make a good first impression.
