The Distance Education Program is designed to make online education accessible, and to remove barriers that delay students’ progress, particularly for first generation college students, working students, and students who seek a credential or transfer to a college/university.
Students new to online learning are encouraged to go on a Quest for Online Success. (Use your Cabrillo ID and password.) There are four modules in Canvas that will help you become a more successful online learner by (1) introducing you to the Canvas learning management system, and (2) help you identify how to get "tech ready" and become an online learner.
In some courses, on-site exams may be held on campus at the discretion of the instructor and the department. Information including dates, times, and locations will be listed in the Cabrillo online class schedule prior to registration.
For information about a particular course, please contact the course instructor.
To receive an Associate's Degree, you must complete the General Education requirements in addition to courses offered in your major. See the Catalog for degree requirements. Additional courses are required to meet admission requirements to the CSU and UC. Counselors are available to help you make good choices about programs. Appointments can be scheduled with a Counselor by calling (831) 479-6274. Online courses offered that fulfill degree/transfer requirements. MORE

NetTutor is an online tutoring service available within Canvas. Instructors may refer students via the Online Tutoring link, or you can access NetTutor tutors directly through the NetTutor link in the Canvas course menu. On campus, you can visit the Tutorial Center as well.
Students who reside out-of-state will not be able to register for online classes. Student athletes, or other students who are physically present at Cabrillo may register for an online class in-person at the Welcome Center, Student Activities Center (SAC East 225).
Students are expected to meet conduct standards outlined in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. Section V. subsection G. refers to discipline related to online or distance education.
