This state-funded program for California residents provides a variety of support services, individualized academic counseling, tutoring, grants, and other forms of assistance to economically and educationally disadvantaged students. Eligibility is determined and coordinated through the EOPS Office, room 907/910.

C.A.R.E. is a state-funded that is a joint effort between Cabrillo College, Santa Cruz County Department of Social Services and California Employment Development Department. This program is for EOPS eligible students who are single heads of household and are currently receiving CalWORKS. In addition to EOPS services, C.A.R.E provides grants to help offset the cost of childcare, workshops for resources, and support services in the community as well as some school supplies and meal services. Those interested may apply through the EOPS Office, room 907.

There are hundreds of thousands of scholarship opportunities that an ambitious student can discover. While your local library will contain many scholarship directories in the reference section for you to search, the best way to match your particular characteristics to scholarship opportunities is to search through the World Wide Web. Students may use computers in the Learning Resource Center for this purpose. There are several free on-line scholarship searches available.
